Comedian Nazareth
One of America’s Top Inspirational Comedians
Nazareth’s Comedy has reached millions on television broadcasts such as Comedy Central, ABC Family, NBC Nightly News and more. Churches number among Nazareth’s favorite venues. Tough audience? No problem! Nazareth has entertained congressmen, IRS agents, death-row inmates, and leaders of America’s top corporations.
Nazareth, yes that’s his real name, was born the youngest of three brothers in Jesus’ hometown. Originally from the Holy Land, he has been honing his talents as a comedian for 25 years. Prior to moving to the United States to attend college at the University of Toledo, Ohio, he uprooted from Kuwait with nothing other than a passion to make the most of the life he has been given.
His passion for comedy ignited when he asked himself one day “What would I enjoy doing in life, and continue to do to the best of my ability, even if I never got paid for it?” Making people laugh was the only thing that come to mind. The next day, he signed up at a California comedy club for their open mic night.
After spending years in Hollywood sharing the stage with comedians like Chris Rock, Adam Sandler and Kevin James and even after being promised a sitcom, Nazareth decided to accept the claims of Jesus Christ and left Hollywood to use his comedy for the Kingdom.
The New York Times reported about one of his performances saying, “The show had the audience convulsing.”
He is proud to be American. But most of all, comedy opens even the toughest audiences to hear the Good News that transformed his life. Nazareth’s influence in comedy led to him being voted in as president for the 300 member Christian Comedy Association.
America’s Pastor, Rick Warren says: “If you want to laugh your head off, get Comedian Nazareth.”
Nazareth is currently on the board of ‘Praise Him Ministries,’ and has worked and performed with artists such as B.B. King, For King and Country, the Newsboys, and Michael W. Smith, just to name a few.
